What Guides Every Job

Written Condition Records

Every piece leaves with a short written note on what was found, what was done, and what to watch at the next visit. No verbal summaries that are hard to act on.

Pressure Testing on Seal Work

Coastal humidity puts real load on gaskets. Each seal renewal is pressure-tested and the watch stays on bench for 48 hours before it is returned — not handed back the same day.

Photo Records on Complex Work

Chronograph restorations include photographs at disassembly, reassembly, and final testing. Owners see exactly what the movement looked like when opened, and after.

Agreement Before Refinishing

Case and bracelet work always begins with a sample panel showing the proposed depth of correction. Owners agree the scope before any polishing compound touches the metal.

Established Parts Channels

Replacement levers, springs, crystals, and gaskets are sourced from the same supply networks used by authorised repairers — not generic stock from uncertain origins.

Transparent Timelines

Quartz work takes two to four days. Refinishing takes seven to ten. Complication restoration is scoped at five to nine weeks depending on parts. These ranges are communicated at intake, not after the fact.

Common Questions

Before You Bring Your Watch In

Do I need an appointment to drop off a watch?
Walk-in drop-offs are welcome during workshop hours. For complication restoration or pieces with known issues, a short call first helps us prepare the right bench space and parts tray so your time at the counter is shorter.
How is the service price calculated?
The three programme prices listed cover parts and labour for standard work within the scope described. If something unexpected is found during disassembly — a cracked wheel, an unusual crown tube size — we contact you before continuing. There are no additions without agreement.
Can you source parts for older or discontinued references?
Many components are available through established parts channels used by the trade. For very old or high-complication pieces, sourcing can extend the timeline — this is discussed and agreed at intake, and the five-to-nine-week window for complication restoration accounts for it.
What does the 48-hour pressure test cover?
After seal renewal the case is pressure-tested to verify the gaskets are seated correctly and the crown tube is sound. The watch then runs on a timing machine for 48 hours so we can check rate stability before it goes back on your wrist. Penang's coastal humidity makes this step worthwhile for any piece that sees water.
Will refinishing change the look of my watch permanently?
Refinishing removes metal — even a careful job does this. We show you a sample panel before any work starts, so you see the proposed depth of correction and the finish quality. If you prefer to leave signs of wear, we note that and only attend to the functional parts of the job.
How do I get updates while my watch is in the workshop?
Quartz and refinishing jobs run on shorter cycles and we contact you when ready. Complication restorations include a staged progress record — photographs sent at disassembly, at reassembly, and at final testing — so you can see what is happening without needing to call in.
